Job summary

Community Thrift Hermiston is hiring a Wares Sorter / Pricer to help launch our new Hermiston store opening May 2026. This in-person role offers flexible full- or part-time shifts, a pay rate of $14.55 per hour plus employee discount, and a hands-on back-of-house position focused on sorting, pricing, and presenting donations for the sales floor.

You will sort home goods and more, inspect items, price according to guidelines, and prep them for display while staying organized and moving

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Able to lift and move items up to 40–50 lbs.
• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced back-of-house environment.
• Flexible scheduling including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Sort donations by category and condition.
• Inspect items for quality, cleanliness, and functionality.
• Price items according to store guidelines (pricing as needed).
• Clean, tag, and prepare wares for the sales floor.
• Keep the sorting and processing area clean and organized.
• Stand for extended periods while sorting and pricing.
• Assist with lifting/moving donations and cooperate with team.

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Pay: $14.55 per hour + employee discount

Schedule: Flexible shifts including weekends (store hours approx. 9 AM – 7 PM)

About Us

Community Thrift is a locally owned thrift store bringing affordable treasures and community giving to Hermiston! We’re opening our new location at 1625 N First St. in May 2026 and building a reliable, hardworking team to help us launch successfully.

Position Summary

We’re looking for detail-oriented and dependable Wares Sorters / Pricers to process home goods, kitchenware, toys, yard equipment, decor, and other non-textile donations. You’ll sort incoming items, price as needed, and prepare them so they look great on our sales floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort donations of home goods, kitchen items, toys, yard equipment, decor, small furniture, and other wares by category and condition
• Inspect items for quality, cleanliness, and functionality
• Price items accurately according to store guidelines (pricing as needed)
• Clean, tag, and prepare wares for the sales floor
• Keep the sorting and processing area clean and organized
• Stand for extended periods while sorting and pricing
• Lift and move items and bags of donations (up to 40–50 lbs) as needed
• Work cooperatively with the team and assist material handlers when required
