Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to support metals processing and distribution. The role involves pulling orders, filling and cutting materials, and maintaining inventory and shipping tasks.

Basic operation of equipment and understanding of materials and processes in metals distribution are required. You will read job orders, verify material, operate heavy equipment as needed, and maintain a safe, orderly warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience or equivalent
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Driver’s License preferred
• Experience in warehousing or material handling preferred
• Ability to obtain certification to operate motorized equipment
• Clear oral and written communication; legible handwriting
• Manual dexterity and physical fitness for heavy equipment
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and blueprints
• Basic math and measurement skills; fractions and conversions
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work well in a team

Responsibilities

• Move inventory, pull material from racks, unload incoming material and load trucks
• Receive and return items into stock locations
• Read and decipher work orders; verify heat numbers and material specs
• Operate cranes, forklifts, side loaders, yard trucks, and other heavy equipment as required
• Place materials into storage or remove them for order fulfillment
• Tag material for identification and complete documentation
• Sort materials by size, type, or product code
• Coordinate with team for safe machine and equipment operations
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Perform spot checks on inventory and restock materials as needed

Job Summary

This position falls under the Plant job family and includes responsibilities related to metals processing and distribution within the company. The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for pulling, filling, cutting orders, and handling inventory and shipping tasks. Tasks include reading job orders, verifying material, operating machines and equipment, and maintaining safety and order in the warehouse environment.
