Job summary

Penske Logistics in Ohio is seeking warehouse associates to join a safety‑minded, outgoing team. You’ll operate forklifts and pallet jacks in refrigerated or non‑climate‑controlled settings, handle shipments, and complete logs with precision.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment where applicable.
• Transport stored items from warehouse to plant or pickup items for shipment.
• Match numbers and letters and stage, sort products for loading.
• Stack boxes and pallets; move materials within the warehouse.
• Follow safety requirements and identify damaged products.
• Package or kit finished product for shipping; shrink wrap and label.
• Scan products using the warehouse management system.
• Complete daily logs and communicate with other shifts.
• Attach tags to containers; mark with identifying information.
• Read work orders and determine material and equipment needs.
• Record units moved on production sheets or tickets.
• Assemble containers and crates; pack damaged containers.
• Read schedules and orders to determine items to be moved.
• Sort/store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms; fulfill requests.
• Assemble customer orders and prepare for shipping.
• Weigh or count items to conform to standards.
• Use computer to enter records and perform other tasks.

Compensation and Work Schedule

• Pay: $21.27 per hour + $1.00 per hour shift incentive
• Work Schedule: 4 pm start time until completion of work
• Flexibility required to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and extended daily hours

Job Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
• Transport stored items from warehouse to plant or pickup items from several locations for shipment
• Accurately match numbers & letters and stage and sort products for loading
• Stack cardboard boxes and pallets; move materials within the warehouse
• Comply with all safety requirements and identify damaged products when received
• Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Complete daily logs and communicate with associates from other shifts
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
• Record numbers of units handled and moved using daily production sheets or work tickets
• Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut lumber; pack and re-pack damaged containers
• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved
• Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms; fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items; distribute items to production workers or assembly line
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department
• Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
• Use computer to enter records and perform other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
• Ability to work independently, provide customer service, and perform multi‑tasking, organizational, and time management skills
• Flexible with working overtime, weekends, holidays, and non‑climate-controlled conditions
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential
• Willingness to work required schedule and at specific location
• Complete Penske employment application, submit to background investigation (past employment, education, criminal history), and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to see, verbally communicate, and understand instructions, guidelines, and other information
• Must be able to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs (45 kg)
