Job summary

The Odom Corporation is hiring for a warehouse associate in Sumner, WA. The role involves safely operating forklifts and pallet jacks, pulling and packing orders, and ensuring stock accuracy in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Typical duties include stocking, inventory control, rotating products for freshness, and building pallets for delivery. The position requires a GED or high school diploma, 18+ years old, and forklift certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, 1-3 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Preferred warehousing knowledge and forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift and pallet jack to move stock.
  • Inspect and verify stock for quality and conformance.
  • Maintain clean, organized, rotating storage areas.
  • Fulfill, pack, and prepare customer orders for delivery.
  • Build pallets and prepare shipments for transport.

Job description

  • Pay ranges from $18.25 to $26.00 per hour plus $1.25 night premium pay, Depending on Experience.
  • $500.00 retention bonus at 6 month and 12-month marks.
  • Only 195 workdays per year!
  • 128 hours of Paid Time Off Annually to start (13 days).
  • 9 Paid Holidays.
  • 401k with employer match.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain case picks per hour and accuracy goals as assigned.
  • Examine stock to verify conformance to quality specifications and takes pride in products being distributed.
  • Keeps all locations neat, organized, and straightened, while maintaining the rotation of product to ensure freshness.
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock with care, concern, and diligence.
  • Store product in bins, racks, on the floor, or on shelves according to identifying information such as style, size, brand, or type of material.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and builds orders on pallets, effectively and safely for successful delivery.
  • Helps to clean up all warehouse areas worked during the shift by sweeping, discarding of trash, and empty boxes prior to the end of the shift.
  • Participates and receives training certificates for the proper and safe operation of forklifts and pallet jacks.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Prefer working knowledge of warehousing, forklift, and pallet jack operations, pallet building, and inventory procedures.
  • Must have or acquire forklift certification.

This position requires regular and constant lifting/moving/pulling or pushing of 10-55 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 170 pounds (full beer kegs).

The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Required that all individuals have complete visual ability to minimize personal and property damage.

  • Varying temperature levels as the product may be in a cooler or on the warehouse floor.
