Job summary

Penske Logistics is hiring for a warehouse associate in Clyde, OH. The role includes loading/unloading trailers, staging products, and maintaining accurate records in a warehouse system.

You will handle packaging, labeling, and safety procedures while contributing to efficient distribution operations. The position offers a $19.66/hour base rate plus a $1.00 shift differential, with a $1500 sign-on bonus and various benefits.

Responsibilities

• Accurately match numbers and letters.

• Pack, label, and ship finished products; ensure quality control.
• Use a warehouse management system to record product movements.
• Read work orders and input data to determine material needs.
• Operate forklifts or pallet jacks where applicable.
• Record units moved on daily production sheets and logs.

Job Responsibilities

• Accurately match numbers & letters
• Accurately stage and sort products for loading
• Load and unload trailers
• Open and close dock doors
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Sort and place parts in racks or other designated areas
• Pull manual dock chain
• Stack cardboard boxes and pallets
• Move materials within the warehouse
• Comply with all safety requirements
• Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Perform quality control
• Identify and remove damaged products when received
• Complete daily logs
• Communicate with associates from other shifts
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
• Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
• Assemble product containers and crates using hand tools and precut lumber
• Pack containers and re‑pack damaged containers
• Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department
• Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
• Use a computer to enter records
• Prepare parcels for mailing
• Maintain inventory records
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
• Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to transport stored items from the warehouse to the plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment (where applicable)
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required.
• Ability to work independently, provide customer service, multi‑task, be organized, flexible, exhibit excellent numerical and time management skills.
• Flexible to work overtime preferred.
• Ability to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to work the required schedule at the specific location required.
• Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

• Represent the physical and mental demands required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Ability to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, or other information.
• Ability to see and verbally communicate. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit, use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
