Job summary

Penske Logistics LLC is seeking a Forklift Operator for our new Laredo, Texas operation. You will load/unload trailers, move items within the warehouse, and operate forklifts and pallet jacks while following safety guidelines.

The role offers a 3:00 pm–12:00 am schedule Monday to Friday, with weekends/holidays as required. Benefits include PTO, health and life insurance, 401K, and a boot allowance after 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Must pass background and drug screening.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 100 lbs and work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
  • Regular, predictable attendance required.
  • Excellent reading/comprehension; follow directions.
  • Willingness to work the specified schedule at the Laredo location.

Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads trailers.
  • Move materials within the warehouse.
  • Complies with all safety requirements.
  • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system.
  • Communicate with associates from other shifts.
  • Read work orders to determine items and quantities to move.
  • Record units moved on daily production sheets or tickets.
  • Read schedules to determine items to be moved or distributed.
  • Fill requisitions and distribute items to production workers.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Position Details:

Monday to Friday 3:00 pm – 12:00 am (weekends/holidays as required)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Loads and unloads trailers

  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
  • Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required (Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred)
  • Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
  • Flexible to work overtime preferred
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
