Job summary

The Salvation Army in Big Spring, TX is seeking a Seasonal Part Time driver responsible for loading and unloading donations and delivering to the destination on a scheduled route. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, with up to 25% travel typical for donation pickups and deliveries.

Must have a valid State Driver’s License and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently while maintaining a neat and safe work area. Prior warehouse experience is preferred if available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year prior warehouse experience preferred.
• Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Receives, inspects and sorts donated items.
• Lifts and carries items to the appropriate destination for processing, storage or discard.
• Drives Salvation Army truck along scheduled route to pick-up donations and/or deliver merchandise to customers.

Job Location: TX-Big Spring Corps - Big Spring, TX 79720 Position Type: Seasonal Part Time Education Level: High School Diploma/GED Salary Range: $12.00 - $15.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Shift: Day Job Category: Property Under the direction of the Corps Officer, drive Salvation Army owned vehicle loading and unloading routine pickups and/or deliveries of material, donated or otherwise, to serve production needs of the Corps and/ or general operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives, inspects and sorts donated items
• Lifts and carries items to the appropriate destination for further processing, storage or discarding for disposal
• Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner; cleans floors, tables and work areas.
• Drives Salvation Army truck along scheduled route to pick-up donations and/or delivery merchandise to customer.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle
• Duties are performed standing and squatting, bending, and walking
• Must be able to lift, move, and carry objects up to 75 pounds frequently.
