Job summary

LKQ Corporation in Kentucky is seeking a motivated warehouse worker to receive, stock, pick and ship parts. You will operate manual or powered equipment, maintain orderly work areas, and follow company policies.

Ideal candidate has up to 1 year of warehouse experience, a High School Diploma or GED, basic math and computer skills, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Up to 1 year of work related experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Warehouse or similar environment experience with PIT (forklift, order picker) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and put away inbound product to designated location.
• Pick/pull correct product from locations and deliver to staging area/delivery truck.
• Operate manual/powered equipment to transport product in warehouse.
• Sort and place parts and supplies on racks or bins according to sequence.
• Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of work areas.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities can include duties aligned with shipping and/or receiving, processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. May also be responsible for operating manual/powered equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.

Essential Job Duties

• Receive and put away inbound product to designated location.

• Operate a manual/powered equipment to transport product in and about warehouse.
• Sort and place parts and supplies on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas.
• Comply with established company policies and procedures.
• Assumes other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Not responsible for supervising employees.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience Up to 1 year of work related experience.

Preferred Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Warehouse, or similar, work environment, prior PIT (forklift, order picker, etc) experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic messages communicated orally.
• May write brief messages and keep simple records.
• Problems encountered are simple, repetitive, and generally solved by clear directions and procedures.
• Follows standard procedures with no decision making involved.
• Uses guidance/guidelines provide by supervisor/manager.
• Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods of time. The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels. Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements). Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
