Job summary

Protolabs in Minnesota is hiring a Warehouse Utility to coordinate molds, inserts and resins and to maintain accurate inventory. Shifts are Thu 6p-12a; Fri & Sat 6p-6a; Sun 8p-6a, with tasks including cycling counts and material transfers.

You will inspect incoming items, prep molds for transfer, and ensure safe handling of heavy components. Requires a high school diploma and ability to read/write in English, plus basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing or material handling experience preferred.
• Able to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Basic math, reading and writing in English required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of molds, inserts and resins; maintain inventory accuracy.
• Retrieve, store and transfer materials between plants; perform cycle counts.
• Prepare resin for transfer and document discrepancies; ensure proper storage.
• Break down molds after sampling runs and conduct incoming quality checks.

Shift: Thu 6p-12a; Fri & Sat 6p-6a; Sun 8p-6a

The Warehouse Utility coordinates the movement of molds, inserts, resins and maintains accurate inventory counts.

What you will do

• Retrieve and store resin and molds.
• Track down missing molds and materials.
• Perform and record cycle counts. Track inventory quantities.
• Retrieve and prepare resin for transfer to other plants. Calculate resin discrepancies.
• Move and locate resin that has been transferred from other plants.
• Organize the resin storage locations for maximum storage capacity.
• Prepare molds and paperwork for transfer to other plants.
• Transfer molds to a storage location.
• Organize the mold storage locations for maximum storage capacity.
• Move and locate molds that have been transferred from other plants.
• Breakdown molds after sampling runs.
• Perform incoming quality inspections on customer-supplied inserts per written work instruction.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department

What it takes

• High school diploma and or equivalent work experience
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Previous material handling experience preferred
• Previous inventory control and/or warehouse experience preferred
• Able to become familiar with the many types of resins used in thermoplastic injection molding
• Able to be licensed to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane hoist, etc.)
• Able to work safely with sharp and heavy objects (utility knives, aluminum blocks, etc.)
• Able to use a computer and calculator
• Able to read and write in English, and do basic arithmetic
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
• Able to use basic calipers and micrometer
• Must be punctual and have good attendance
• Good written and oral communication skills

$20.14 - $25 an hour

Protolabs offers a competitive total rewards package, and compensation mix vary based on position, such as base wage, as well as other earnings including incentives and commissions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
