Job summary

United States Cold Storage in Minooka, IL seeks a Training & Operations Support professional to design and deliver orientation and ongoing training for warehouse staff. You will champion safety, SOP compliance, and inventory accuracy while coaching new hires and existing employees. This role blends training with day-to-day operations, requiring hands-on leadership in a fast-paced facility.

Full-time, non-exempt, with opportunities for growth and participation in company-wide safety initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of warehouse understanding and experience.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing, planning, and organizing orientation and training programs for employees.
  • Maintain knowledge of warehouse functions and lead by example.
  • Ensure safety, SOPs, and inventory accuracy while remaining inspection ready.
  • Schedule training classes and coach employees.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and maintain records.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with training requirements.

Job description

· Assist with the designing, planning, and organizing of orientation and training programs for employees.

· Responsible for overall knowledge of the various warehouse functions and asked to lead by example.

· Ensure and maintain good warehousing practices, safety, customer SOPs, and inventory accuracy while remaining inspection ready.

· Uphold a safety culture while abiding by company policy.

· Evaluate training needs through consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.

· Obtain, organize, or develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials.

· Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills or comply with updated policy or regulation changes.

· Present information with a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.

· Gauge training effectiveness and accurately maintain training records.

· Assist in scheduling classes based on availability of employees, equipment, or instructors.

· Provide mentorship to new employees or those who need additional coaching.

· Evaluate and coach employee performance given LMS program best practices and work to develop skills in employees.

· Assist in maintaining compliance with local, corporate, and external training requirements.

· Act as a Warehouse Associate when needed.

What We Are Looking For:

The Ideal candidate will have or be able to complete the below qualifications.

· Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

· Experience: 2+ years of warehouse understanding and experience.

· Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.

· May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or standing, walking, using stairs, and lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.

· Stand and walk for extended periods.

· Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.

· Effective communication, vision, and hearing are essential for safety and productivity.

· Operate scanners, tablets, radios, phones, computers, and other essential warehouse equipment as required.

· Additional work hours may be requested by management to help manage employee production, projects, and or special events.

· Operate a registered motor vehicle if apart of daily tasks.

· Engage in frequent personal interaction and communication.

· Possess strong arithmetic and reading skills.

· Follow verbal instructions, written instructions, and company policies.

· Be a self-starter, able to work independently and coordinate with others.

· Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing stress and meeting productivity guidelines.
