Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking candidates for a warehouse technician role at the Henderson mine and mill complex near Denver. The position involves receiving, unloading, inventory control, and distribution of materials, with extensive forklift and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• One year warehouse experience in mining or similar industry, including operation of heavy equipment within a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine warehouse duties: receiving, unloading, inventory, storage, movement and distribution of goods and materials.
• Receive, inspect and unload goods, place into inventory, process reservations and issue material to end users.
• Operate heavy equipment including forklifts up to 36,000 lbs, pallet jacks and carts.
• Deliver material to customers, obtain signatures, and maintain delivery records.
• Update warehouse management systems, maintain records of delivered items and inventory.
• Set customer expectations on delivery times and delays.
• Perform other duties including Warehouse Tech I duties.

Where You Will Work

Our Henderson mine and mill are an hour drive apart – separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles underground). The Henderson mine is an underground molybdenum mining operation located approximately 42 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire. It has been in operation since 1976 and today consists of a large block-cave, underground mining complex feeding a concentrator with a current capacity of approximately 32,000 metric tons per day. It can produce approximately 15 million pounds of molybdenum per year. The Henderson mill is located 15 miles west of the mine, between Dillon and Kremmling.

What You Will Do

• Under frequent supervision, performs a variety of routine warehouse duties involving the receiving, unloading, inventory, storing, movement, and distribution of goods and materials at assigned site.
• Receive, inspect, and unload goods and materials and place into inventory. Process reservations and issue material to end users, including via walk-up requests.
• Operate various heavy equipment, up to and including forklifts (up to 36,000 lbs), pallet jacks and carts.
• Deliver material to customers, capture proof of delivery signatures, and maintain a record of delivered items.
• Implement policies designed to maintain inventory in usable condition and ensure reliability, including visual inspection of inventory on an ongoing basis, wrapping and rotation of movable elements of inventory. Utilize site SOPs and product literature to understand and complete assessment of equipment/products.
• Update warehouse management systems (WMS) as needed to:
  • Maintain records of delivered items and remaining inventory.
  • Update manual or automated inventory listings.
• Set customer expectations by communicating delivery times and possible delays if expected.
• Perform other duties as requested, including Warehouse Tech I duties.

What You Bring To Freeport

• One (1) year warehouse experience in mining or similar industry, including one (1) year consistent operation of a variety of heavy equipment within a warehouse environment (e.g., forklifts, applicable warehouse equipment)

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$21.00 - $29.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
