Job summary

Second Nature Brands LLC in Seattle, WA is hiring a Warehouse Technician for 2nd shift to play a key role in our supply chain as we scale from $500M to $1B. You will accurately pick and ship orders, operate a stand-up forklift, and maintain compliance with GMPs, QFS, and safety policies.

The role offers a nightly 8:00pm–6:30am schedule Monday through Thursday, with overtime as needed, paid time off, holidays, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older and forklift experience in a warehouse.
  • Understanding of FEFO and inventory management best practices.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new applications.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed, pass background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick bulk and outbound orders using RF scanners according to specifications.
  • Operate a stand-up forklift to transport materials and manage 3-high pallet racks.
  • Inspect, load, and unload trucks while maintaining safety standards.
  • Follow FEFO inventory procedures to ship earliest expire dates first.
  • Use Sage X3 and SAP for inventory tracking, order picking, and reporting.
  • Prepare BOLs and packing slips for outgoing orders and ensure documents are accurate.
  • Receive inbound shipments, verify quantities and quality, and ensure correct storage.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse inventory and support cycle counts.
  • Comply with GMPs, QFS, OSHA, and food safety regulations; maintain a clean work environment.

We are on a mission to grow Second Nature Brands from $500M to $1B in the next 2 years through a combination of organic growth and through M&A. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Technician, who will be an important member of the supply chain team during this growth.

Regular working hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00pm to 6:30am, with weekday or weekend overtime as needed. The starting rate is $23.00 per hour plus an additional $2.00 per hour night shift differential, additional compensation based on relevant work experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately pick bulk and outbound orders using RF scanners, ensuring correct products and quantities are picked according to order specifications.
  • Safely operate a stand-up forklift to transport materials, including stacking and retrieving items from 3-high pallet racking.
  • Inspect, load, and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods and maintaining safety standards.
  • Follow FEFO (first expired, first out) inventory management procedures to ensure products with the earliest expiration dates are picked and shipped first.
  • Utilize Sage X3 and SAP for inventory tracking, order picking, and reporting, ensuring all transactions are documented accurately.
  • Prepare BOLs (bills of lading), packing slips, and other shipping documents for outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping requirements.
  • Receive inbound shipments, verify product types, quantities, and quality, and ensure that all received materials match the order specifications.
  • Place incoming materials into appropriate racking based on product type, handling instructions, and allergen policies to maintain proper segregation and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Perform regular stock rotation to ensure product freshness and minimize inventory shrinkage.
  • Participate in inventory audits and cycle counts, reporting discrepancies, and assisting with inventory reconciliation.
  • Prepare and organize outbound loads of finished products for intercompany shipments, ensuring the correct products are ready for transport to other facilities or locations.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse, ensuring materials are stored in the correct locations for easy access.
  • Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), Q&FS (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA safety policies.
  • Carry out assigned cleaning tasks while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Flexible in working both shifts as needed to ensure proper coverage during the absence of other warehouse team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience as a material handler, warehouse worker, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of allergen policies and the ability to apply them when placing products into storage.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient with RF scanners for order picking and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar inventory management systems for order processing and inventory tracking.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Office).

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English is required to ensure comprehension of CGMPS (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and accurate completion of production documentation related to food safety and traceability, for compliance to food safety laws and regulations governed by US agencies (FDA, USDA/FSIS).

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, bend, reach, and kneel, for extended periods frequently.
  • Walk up and down stairs frequently.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. and move items frequently.
  • Wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) provided by the company.
  • While performing the duties of this job, you will work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be high and employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment. This is an indoor food manufacturing setting.
