Job description

The Warehouse Technician position is based at the Totowa, NJ plant and reports directly to a Warehouse Supervisor.

This is a first shift position (6:00am - 2:30pm).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), FSMA, Safety, and Environmental regulations, as well as company policies.
• Reconfigure pallets by picking multiple ingredients in the warehouse and restacking full units of ingredients on different pallets. Full units may weigh up to 55 lbs.
• Weigh various types of raw materials, less than a full pack size, according to formulas. This involves using a scoop to transfer weight between containers.
• Work deliberately to achieve KPIs in specific areas set by supervision.
• Wear proper PPE depending on the materials handled; PPE will be provided.
• Maintain a positive attitude focused on customer service, teamwork, and quality productivity.
• Attend and participate in training sessions and meetings.
• Engage in process improvements by making recommendations to enhance workplace safety, efficiency, and customer service.
• Responsibilities may change or new tasks may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and the ability to read, follow formulas, and SOPs.
• Experience performing electronic transactions related to physical movement of ingredients within a facility.
• Ability to operate a forklift; stand-up forklift preferred.
• Physical ability to restack pallets with ingredients weighing up to 55 pounds.
• Work accurately and methodically.
• Good communication skills, including over two-way radios.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, with occasional weekends and overtime as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Large, open manufacturing areas with loud machinery; hearing protection recommended in some areas. Exposure to high temperatures in summer and cold environments in winter. Dusty production and warehouse areas.
• Use of dust masks, hair nets, beard nets, gloves; respirators required for certain activities.
• Most of the shift spent standing; frequently lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
