Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa, FL seeks a Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations of the Food Storage Warehouse and ensure efficient inventory control. You will manage donations, deliveries, and transactions while supervising volunteers and interns in a fast-paced nonprofit setting.
Responsibilities include maintaining inventory systems, performing safety checks on equipment, and coordinating with Outreach and other departments.
Salary: $17.00
This position is responsible for the daily operation and management of the Food Storage Warehouse.
High School diploma or GED completed; Minimum of two years warehouse/inventory experience. Must be able and certified to operate a forklift; Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle weighing up to 2.5 tons.
This position requires the ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary framework; must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be willing to be cross‑trained and utilized throughout the Operations department. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, orally as well as in writing. Must demonstrate a heart for the ministry of serving poor and homeless families. The position requires a degree of maturity, sensitivity to issues of faith, cross cultural and diversity issues, and the social skill to handle job‑related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner. Requires strong managerial skills and the ability to supervise both individual and group volunteers. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, staff, and volunteers.
Must be able to tolerate outdoor temperatures consistent with Florida climate and endure prolonged standing/walking/bending/stooping and stretching. Must be able to relocate materials in a safe and proper manner. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly. Must be able to calculate mathematical equations as needed for inventory control. Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability as to take part in and provide sound oral communication and information. Must have the physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job‑related issues and stress. Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more.
Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States and pass applicable pre‑employment background screening procedures. Must be able to work flexible schedules during the holiday season (October‑December) and special events. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Valid FL driver’s license with a good driving record and insured vehicle.
