Job summary

Interstate Battery System of America Inc is seeking a Warehouse Team Member II to maintain a well-stocked, organized warehouse and assist Route Service Managers. Responsibilities include loading/unloading batteries, restocking, charging, testing, and ensuring a safe, compliant workplace.

You will operate a forklift and motor vehicle, support on-time deliveries, and assist with reporting and payments while handling batteries and related tasks in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year warehouse experience preferred.
• Strong written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of carrier operations, routing, and distribution methods.
• Familiar with safety and regulatory requirements for shipping.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload batteries.
• Restock batteries.
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations.
• Charge, test, clean and date adjustment batteries.
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment.
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims.
• Operate a forklift and motor vehicle.
• Run the Hot Shots on a timely basis as needed.
• Fill in for NAC Delivery Specialist or RSM as needed.
• Collect and handle payments on account.
• Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
• Follow driver program requirements.
• Other duties as requested.

Purpose of Job

The Warehouse Team Member II provides a well -stocked and organized warehouse and assists Route Service Managers. Must be able to deliver batteries on a regular basis.

Job Components

• Load and unload batteries

• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims
• Operate a forklift and motor vehicle
• Run the Hot Shots on a timely basis as needed

• Collect and handle payments on account, which may include cash, checks and money orders
• Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
• Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods
• Knowledge of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• Understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or forklift
• Must have a clean driver's record AND meet driver qualifications requirements
• Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL)

Work Environment

• Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
• Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
• Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
