Job summary

Interstate Battery System of America Inc is seeking a Warehouse Team Member II to maintain a well-stocked, organized facility and assist Route Service Managers. The role includes loading/unloading batteries, restocking, and delivering to customers as needed.

You will operate a forklift and delivery vehicles, follow safety rules, and support various driver programs while ensuring accurate warehouse reporting and timely hot shot runs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year warehouse experience preferred.
  • Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and able to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations.
  • Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required.
  • Understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or forklift.
  • Must have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload batteries.
  • Restock batteries.
  • Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations.
  • Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries.
  • Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment.
  • Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims.
  • Operate a forklift and motor vehicle.
  • Run the Hot Shots on a timely basis as needed.
  • Fill in for NAC Delivery Specialist or RSM, as needed.
  • Collect and handle payments on account, which may include cash, checks and money orders.
  • Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
  • Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.
  • Other duties as requested

Work Environment:
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
  • Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle
