Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and work with the 2nd shift Shipping team to execute daily priorities.
• Plan and assign daily work based on orders, STOs, production needs, and priorities.
• Monitor execution vs. plan, adjust resources as priorities change.
• Coordinate with Harvey campus departments to move materials as needed.
• Maintain communication with Customer Service, Sales, Logistics, Planning, and Operations.
• Utilize SAP to support shipping, inventory movements, PGI, and accuracy.
• Support inventory control, cycle counts, reconciliation, and resolution of discrepancies.
• Operate ASRS and conveyors, with basic troubleshooting.
• Coach the team, uphold Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, and Standard Work.
• Drive continuous improvement and 6S initiatives.
• Cover the Shipping Manager in their absence and develop for future promotion.

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, working Shipping Supervisor to lead our 2nd shift Shipping operation. This position will work alongside the team while providing leadership, setting priorities, and ensuring customer orders, Stock Transfer Orders (STOs), and material movements are completed safely, accurately, and on time.

The ideal candidate will bring strong shipping, SAP, and inventory control experience, along with the ability to lead in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the shift.

This role is also intended to provide succession potential for the Shipping Manager position and will be expected to cover the Shipping Manager as needed.

FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $72,000 to $84,000 per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside the 2nd shift Shipping team to execute daily priorities.
• Plan and assign daily work based on customer orders, STOs, production needs, material transfers, and business priorities.
• Monitor execution vs.plan, adjust resources as priorities change, and drive recovery when performance is off plan.
• Coordinate with departments throughout the Harvey campus to ensure materials are moved where and when needed to support production, customer orders, and transfers.
• Maintain timely communication with Customer Service, Sales, Logistics, Planning, and Operations regarding order status, changing priorities, delays, risks, and expected completion.
• Utilize SAP to support shipping, inventory movements, PGI, and transaction accuracy.
• Support inventory control, cycle counts, reconciliation, and resolution of inventory discrepancies.
• Support operation of the ASRS and conveyor systems, including basic troubleshooting and coordination with Maintenance and Engineering when issues occur.
• Assign manpower, coach employees, maintain floor presence, and hold the team accountable for Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, and Standard Work.
• Drive continuous improvement, root cause problem solving, 6S, and process standardization.
• Cover the Shipping Manager in their absence and develop the skills necessary for future advancement into the Shipping Manager role.

Qualifications

Required

• Shipping, warehouse, or distribution experience.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience.
• Hands-on SAP experience within shipping, warehouse, or inventory operations.
• Strong understanding of inventory control and cycle counting.
• Ability to work as a hands-on supervisor while leading and developing a team.
• Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively across departments.
• Manufacturing or chemical manufacturing experience.
• Experience with an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).
• Basic understanding of conveyor and automated material handling systems.
• Experience managing operational KPIs and driving continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability and desire to grow into a Shipping Manager or broader leadership role.
