Job summary

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Supervision
  • Comprehend daily plan, priorities, daily assignments, and effectively communicate those to the warehouse crew.
  • Ask questions and suggest solutions to problems.
  • Display Leadership qualities.
  • Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for Biagi Bros.
  • Report inventory anomalies, breaches in facility security, and employee safety issues.
  • Lead by example in order to set a positive tone and work attitude with warehouse staff.
  • Train, develop, coach, and discipline employees he/she supervises.
II. Fork Lift Operation
  • Safe and proficient operation of various forklifts and attachments.
  • Load and unload trailers, containers, and railcars following all safety procedures.
  • Daily use of WAX/AX Warehouse Management Systems, using barcode scanners/readers to process all product movements and transactions.
  • Use of computers to check orders/receipts/inventory in WAX/AX as needed.
  • Complete all receivers thoroughly and accurately and turn in with all appropriate paperwork and attachments (including pictures if required).
  • Stage and stack all products square and straight according to the requirements provided by each specific account and by the Biagi Bros procedures.
  • Accurately pull appropriate product from assigned locations.
  • Verify all aspects of outbound orders prior to loading.
  • Load all outbound orders following load diagrams specific to the product being shipped and various trailer limitations.
  • Manually stacking and wrapping product for shipment
  • Participate in inventory cycle counts.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager.
III. Safety and Security
  • Attend all safety/staff meetings, sign in, and participate.
  • Complete and submit daily forklift safety check list.
  • Cut and remove seals from railcars, trailers, and containers using appropriate tools and PPE.
  • All outside carrier drivers must be accompanied by a Biagi Bros employee while inside the warehouse.
  • Ensure all bay doors and pedestrian doors are accessible and closed at breaks and lunches and secure at the end of each shift.
IV. Housekeeping
  • Perform all housekeeping duties to support food grade warehouse requirements including: sweeping and mopping if necessary, sweeping and picking up debris in trailers, containers, railcars and warehouse floor. Plus, sweeping exterior docks and picking up broken glass, seals, and debris on railroad tracks.
  • Follow break-room clean-up/garbage removal schedule
  • Safely and appropriately operate floor scrubber for dry and wet applications following established procedures.
  • Recycle broken pallets, plastic, and cardboard per established guidelines.
V. Inventory Control
  • Perform bi-monthly, periodic, and/or annual inventories as directed by the accounts Biagi Bros service.
  • Perform secondary and cycle counts as directed by management.
  • Report any inventory anomalies to account managers or warehouse manager found during day-to-day operations.
  • Report/document any damages found during unloading process or found later in location through use of designated forms.
  • Follow FIFO or assigned codes/lots.
VI. Communication/Professionalism
  • Represent Biagi Bros appropriately in all relationships including electronic communication with owners, management, peers, employees, accounts, customers, carriers, and suppliers.
  • Reports directly to the Assistant Warehouse Manager. Must also maintain functional and professional relationships with all managers, admin, co-workers, company truck drivers, all carriers, and all representatives and suppliers of the accounts that service this location.
VII. Additional Responsibilities (but not limited to)
  • Occasional travel by car or plane to other Biagi Bros locations.
  • Occasional covering of other shifts and the shift specific responsibilities.
  • Ability to work over 8 hours in a day and/or weekends
  • Schedule manpower and track attendance
  • Utilize various customer or company directed systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Facility Manager.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance is mandatory.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises the forklift warehouse crew, warehouse crew and temporary staffing.
