Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is a working supervisor responsible and accountable for overseeing and actively participating in daily warehouse and production operations within the metal building insulation manufacturing facility. This position provides direct leadership and coordination for General Laborers, Material Handlers, and Machine Operators while assisting in machine operation and material handling as needed to maintain production flow. The Warehouse Supervisor ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
  • Lead, train, coach, and hold accountable all General Laborers, Material Handlers, and Machine Operators.
  • Assign daily tasks, establish priorities, and monitor performance to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are achieved.
  • Conduct regular safety talks, team meetings, and performance feedback discussions.
  • Promote teamwork, respect, and open communication across all warehouse and production functions.
  • Support employee development by identifying training needs and providing opportunities for skill advancement.
  • Working Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in production by assisting with laminator and band saw setup, operation, and troubleshooting as needed to maintain continuous operation.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks when required to support production and shipping schedules.
  • Step into production or material handling roles to cover absences or ensure on‑time order fulfillment.
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring all personnel follow company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all Corporate safety requirements
  • Enforce required use of PPE and adherence to lockout/tagout, forklift, and material handling procedures.
  • Conduct daily walk‑throughs to identify and correct safety hazards or housekeeping issues.
  • Ensure fiberglass insulation stacks are aligned and stable to prevent tipping or injury hazards.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations and corrective action follow‑up.
  • Production and Workflow Management
  • Oversee daily laminator and band saw operations, ensuring continuous material flow and minimal downtime.
  • Coordinate scheduling, purchasing, and shipping to ensure raw materials and finished goods are available when required and properly staged.
  • Verify that machine setups, changeovers, and production runs are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure production documentation (production orders, waste tracking, quality, Home Innovation and UL compliance checks, and inventory movements) is completed accurately and timely.
  • Support and drive process improvements in safety, waste reduction, productivity and inventory management.
  • Quality and Inventory Control
  • Ensure all finished goods meet customer specifications through consistent adherence to quality standards.
  • Review quality control results, glue application and compression recovery measurements, and audit documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control through regular counts, system updates, and reconciliation of raw and finished goods.
  • Resolve product or equipment issues promptly.
  • Housekeeping, Equipment and Facility Maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and production environment.
  • Keep all work areas, aisles, and storage zones free of debris, pallets, and other obstructions.
  • Oversee and participate in the safe operation and maintenance of forklifts, laminators, band saws, and other production or material handling equipment.
  • Inspect, repair, and perform both breakdown and preventive maintenance.
  • Replace or repair defective parts as needed, maintain accurate maintenance records, and promptly report major issues to the Plant Manager.
  • Administrative and Reporting
  • Track and report KPIs, safety, quality, productivity and inventory metrics
  • Manage daily attendance, timekeeping, and discipline documentation for direct reports.
  • Support and participate in audits, inventory reconciliations, and operational meetings.
  • Fill in for Plant Management as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary education or technical training preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or production operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop production teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing safety standards, lean principles, and quality control processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP or inventory management systems, Microsoft Office, and production documentation.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and quality standards.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely perform duties in a production environment.
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Work Environment & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Work performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to fiberglass insulation materials and standard warehouse conditions.
  • Required PPE: Safety glasses and OSHA‑compliant safety‑toed footwear must be worn at all times in production and warehouse areas.
  • Optional PPE: Dust masks are available for use at the employee’s discretion.
  • Hearing protection is not required in this environment.
  • Position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
