Job summary

JOB OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Supervisor ensures that warehouse operations are conducted in a safe, secure, efficient, and cost-effective manner in compliance with company policy, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations. The Warehouse Supervisor is the primary contact between Profit Center sales and operations personnel.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Correctly and efficiently pull and stage customer orders.
• 2. Supervise, schedule, and train warehouse and delivery staff to ensure safe and efficient operation of all warehouse functions.
• 3. Supervise proper routing, loading, and preparation of orders for shipment and delivery in accordance with customers’ instructions.
• 4. Ensure merchandise is received and stored in an efficient and economical manner and maintain records in compliance with company policy.
• 5. Review and maintain appropriate DOT records and physical examination certificates for drivers, ensure current training certification for forklift/material handling equipment operators.
• 6. Supervise and schedule the maintenance of all company delivery vehicles and material handling equipment in use in the warehouse.
• 7. maintain the safety of warehouse operations in compliance with the company’s Safety Standards, OSHA, and any other applicable regulations.
• 8. Maintain the security of warehouse and grounds to protect the Profit Center’s assets.
• 9. Resolve all delivery complaints and receiving disputes quickly and effectively.
• 10. Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
• 11. Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
• 12. Stock merchandise according to prescribed locations.
• 13. Process interbranch orders through UPS or other LTL carrier.
• 14. Order necessary warehouse materials when appropriate.
• 15. Load customer vehicles for orders when necessary.
• 16. Unload delivery trucks as needed.
• 17. Assemble products as necessary.
• 18. Make deliveries by truck as necessary.
• 19. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 1. High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2. At least 21 years old.
• 3. Possess a proper and valid Florida driver’s license
• 4. 3+ years of warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
• 5. Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company Policy.
• 6. Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
• 7. Knowledge of products sold at Profit Center preferred.

SKILLS

• 1. Experience supervising staff or acting as a team lead.
• 2. Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
• 3. Comprehensive knowledge of and able to apply and enforce OSHA, DOT, and other warehouse and material handling safety regulations.
• 4. Able to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
• 5. Able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
• 6. Able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at Profit Center.
• 7. Able toe learn and operate the computer related systems used for sales and warehouse operations.
• 8. Able to learn Microsoft Office Outlook to communicate by email.
• 9. Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• 10. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL DEMANDS

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

The physical environment requires the employee to work both outside and within warehouses with limited or no climate control. In certain roles, Employees may be required to operate safety-sensitive vehicles and equipment (such as forklift trucks, mechanical lift gates, hand tools, manual material handling equipment, ladders, and rubber retention straps). The Profit Center may stock, sell, and use hazardous materials – PVC pipe cement, pool chemicals, torch gas, propane gas, solvents, etc. Based on your job responsibilities, and subject to applicable law, you may be required to handle these materials.
