Job summary

METROPOLITAN WAREHOUSE AND DELIVERY is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations in Houston, TX. The role focuses on labor supervision, scheduling, and training staff to meet company standards for loading, unloading, and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Experience in a 3PL, distribution, fulfillment, or high-volume warehouse environment.
• Strong knowledge of receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
• Experience supervising warehouse associates, assigning work, monitoring productivity, and providing coaching.
• Familiarity with WMS, barcode scanners, RF devices, and Excel.
• Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, mis-picks, packing errors, damages, and shipping issues.
• Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of the warehouse including labor, scheduling, and supervision of operations.
• Oversee inventory levels and ensure efficient use of warehouse space.
• Provide training to warehouse staff and ensure adherence to standards and quality guidelines.
• Support shipping and receiving responsibilities and monitor KPIs such as accuracy and on-time performance.
• Address urgent orders, staffing shortages, and operational problems with effective coaching.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor serves as a leader and provides guidance for all warehouse labor duties. Responsible for directing daily activities of the warehouse including labor, scheduling, and supervision of day-to-day operations. Oversees and provides training to warehouse associates following Metropolitan’s set standards and quality guidelines for loading, unloading, packaging and scan discipline. Oversees inventory levels, monitors the safety of goods, and ensures the efficient usage of warehouse space. Assigns tasks and aids Warehouse Manager with all shipping and receiving responsibilities. Assists and provides guidance for different warehouse duties as needed.

Required qualifications

• Experience in a 3PL, distribution, fulfillment, or high-volume warehouse environment.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance

• Pushing and Pulling: Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise
