The role requires an AA or equivalent, a high school diploma, 3–5 years in a distribution center with a logistics company, forklift certification, and experience with WMS and inventory control.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree (AA) from a two-year college or equivalent work experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years’ experience in a distribution center with an international 3PL; prior team lead and training experience.
  • Two to three years of team lead experience in a warehouse/distribution center preferred.
  • Prior TSA Screening Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse tools and equipment; forklift certification required.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, inventory control, and domestic transportation documentation.
  • Industry-related courses are a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.

  • Support recruitment and interview process for new hires; manage disciplinary actions.

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics regularly reviews our pay ranges against industry standards to ensure fairness.The primary function of a Warehouse Supervisor is daily manpower planning, labor management and cost containment for the activities for the contract logistics department within the multi-customer facility. This leadership role is performed in a warehousing and distribution center environment through a workforce of full time hourly employees and ad hoc temporary agency resources.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Head one or more of the following programs at facility: building maintenance, equipment maintenance, sanitation or safety• Track, maintain and forward issues related to assets to include handling equipment, storage media, building fixtures, IT equipment to include zebra printers and infrastructure, and maintenance of facility• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment• Stay abreast of customer scopes of work including immediately elevating scope creep to management• Plan layout of shop floor/storage media considering the size, characteristics and expected dwell time• Maintain knowledge of proper methods for operating equipment to include forklifts, reach trucks, man-up, etc.• Maintain knowledge WMS’: query inventory, track transactions, run reports, operate RF scanners, etc.• Provide accurate recording and retention of inventory and item movement; oversee inventory control activities to include cycle counts and physical inventories• Maintain and review records to include bill of ladings goods receipts, packing lists (shipment manifest), tally sheets for accuracy and compliance with established procedures• Trace history of SKUs received and stored to determine reasons for discrepancies and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies for the future• Maintain basic understanding of TSA/DSA facility/security requirements and recordkeeping.• Assign duties and examine employees’ work for accuracy , neatness, and compliance to procedures• Prepare composite reports from individual reports of subordinates• Maintain harmony and equity among workers and resolve complaints• Supports Warehouse Manager in the recruitment and interview process of new hires.• Manage warehouse staff to include progressive discipline, employee payroll issues, and annual reviews• Track and catalog customer level labor and space utilized and provide to manager• Develop and maintain efficient workflows, daily manpower plans and schedules• Attend or conduct daily operational kickoff and manpower planning meeting with colleagues to effectively share resources to include floor space, staff and equipment• Perform other duties as assignedNote: Due to business necessity or in the event a facility is a shared CL and freight forwarding (FF) location, the employee may also be required to perform the duties and responsibilities listed in the contract logistics Warehouse Supervisor job description.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise up to seven full time employees and as many as seven additional temporary employeesQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
