Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Lockbourne, OH, is seeking a 2nd shift Warehouse Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of a shifting team as we transition to a new client in the Columbus area.

The role oversees safety, quality, and timing, coaches staff, drives continuous improvement, and ensures KPI targets are met while maintaining strong customer service.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year or less of direct supervisory experience required; more is preferred.
• Experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and oversee day-to-day logistics operations.
• Plan and review logistics processes with the Logistics Manager to meet standards.
• Set work schedules and coordinate activities to ensure optimal shift performance.
• Be accountable for site KPI and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with customers on all aspects of operations.
• Conduct regular team and individual progress meetings to track objectives and coach performance.
• Promote diversity and inclusion and improve internal processes.
• Perform performance evaluations and recognize top performers.
• Address performance issues through corrective action and disciplinary steps.
• Implement health, safety and security initiatives and adhere to company policies.
• Orient new employees and Lead Hands with necessary tools and information.

Job Description :

We are immediately hiring a 2nd shift Warehouse Supervisor in Lockbourne, OH. This role will be transitioning to a facility within the greater Columbus, OH areas as we start to support a new client for our Supply Chain Solutions division.

• Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month

• Annual Salary Pay:$67,500 to $70,000 based on experience

• Schedule: Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Employee will be required to work additional hours and days as needed to support business needs.

Summary

Supervisors are responsible for leading their shift or assigned area of the operation, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations. They coach, train, develop, and support their teams while driving engagement and accountability. In addition, they play a critical role in continuous improvement efforts, operational excellence, and achieving key customer performance metrics.

Essential Functions

• Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations;

• Plan and review, in collaboration with the Logistics Manager, all logistics processes, ensuring that they meet the company standards and customer service specifications

• Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities of the workers to ensure optimal shift/team logistics

• Accountable for site Key Performance Indication (KPI)

• Working in collaboration with customer in all aspect of operations

• Meet regularly with team members collectively, as well as on an individual basis to monitor progress towards meeting objectives, track performance, coach and counsel as well as recognizing team and individual successes

• Cultivate team spirit with a Diversity and Inclusion initiative and promote cooperation by seeking opportunities to improve internal processes

• Carry out performance evaluations of the team members and recommend performance awards and/or merit increases when appropriate

• Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary process

• Responsible for implementation of health & safety and security initiatives, practices and behaviors and adherence to company rules and policies

• Provide appropriate orientation for employees and Lead Hands and give them the information, technology and any material necessary to perform their jobs
