Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead shifts and ensure safe, efficient logistics operations. The role involves coaching teams, coordinating with the Logistics Manager, and achieving customer KPIs.

Exempt salaried position with a regular 65,000 USD annual pay and a Wed-Sat schedule from 5:00am to 5:00pm. Benefits include comprehensive health plans, 401(k) with company match, stock-purchase discounts, and paid time off plus maternity leave.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 0–1 year direct supervisory/leadership experience.
• 1+ year experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations.
• Plan and review all logistics processes with the Logistics Manager to meet standards and specs.
• Establish work schedules and procedures; coordinate activities for optimal shift logistics.
• Accountable for site KPI and performance metrics; collaborate with customers.
• Lead regular team and individual progress reviews; coach and recognize successes.
• Enforce health & safety and security initiatives; ensure policy adherence.

Summary

Supervisors are responsible for leading their shift or assigned area of the operation, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations. They coach, train, develop, and support their teams while driving engagement and accountability. In addition, they play a critical role in continuous improvement efforts, operational excellence, and achieving key customer performance metrics.

Essential Functions

• Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations;
• Plan and review, in collaboration with the Logistics Manager, all logistics processes, ensuring that they meet the company standards and customer service specifications
• Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities of the workers to ensure optimal shift/team logistics
• Accountable for site Key Performance Indication (KPI)
• Working in collaboration with customer in all aspect of operations
• Meet regularly with team members collectively, as well as on an individual basis to monitor progress towards meeting objectives, track performance, coach and counsel as well as recognizing team and individual successes
• Cultivate team spirit with a Diversity and Inclusion initiative and promote cooperation by seeking opportunities to improve internal processes
• Carry out performance evaluations of the team members and recommend performance awards and/or merit increases when appropriate
• Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary process
• Responsible for implementation of health & safety and security initiatives, practices and behaviors and adherence to company rules and policies
• Provide appropriate orientation for employees and Lead Hands and give them the information, technology and any material necessary to perform their jobs
