OVERVIEW

This position will directly supervise up to 30 unionized employees on rotating shifts.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise and coordinate loading/unloading operations. Assign duties and ensure conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of interaction with all associates.
  • Enforce company policies, and hold employees accountable.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Pick and stage outbound shipments in accordance with productivity standards and FIFO policy.
  • Ensure shipments are accurate and damage-free.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all material handling equipment.
  • Implement work schedules effectively, assign jobs properly, and ensure completion.
  • Optimize space utilization through warehouse consolidation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area with orderly stacking of products.
  • Lead operations with a focus on safety.
  • Ensure inventory integrity and assist in physical inventories.
  • Produce and analyze warehouse and distribution reports.
  • Manage building security when acting as supervisor in charge.
  • Work rotating shifts and accommodate reasonable overtime, including weekends.
WORK EXPERIENCES
  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a high-volume warehouse.
  • 4-year degree highly desirable.
  • Experience in a union environment preferred.
  • Experience with consumer product goods/retail distribution preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and materials handling equipment.
  • Ability to understand, produce, and explain reports.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 1 year of experience working in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Availability to work weekends, overtime, and rotating shifts.
LOCATION OF ROLE

The pay rate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
