Job summary

Olgoonik Corporation in Anchorage is seeking a Warehouse Specialist – DLA to perform receipt, stow and issue of material and ensure items meet MIL-STD 129N requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of material handling experience, and proficiency with Distribution Standard System and MS Office. A valid driver's license is required; MHE license is preferred. This is a hands-on, fast-paced warehouse position with lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs inventory actions and data entry in DSS and other systems.
• Identifies, inspects, classifies, accepts/rejects and disposes of material per regulations.
• Loads/unloads materials, operates MHE, and uses measurement tools.
• Reads drawings, prints and specifications; prepares distribution reports.
• Maintains safety and quality standards, and supports team as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION

Overview:

The Warehouse Specialist – DLA performs a full range of duties in the receipt, stow and issue of material. Ensure items being stowed meet the requirements of MIL-STD 129N.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs inventory actions.
• Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material as per DLA regulations.
• Examinations may be visual or require measuring devices and techniques under supervision of senior staff or management.
• Loads material on and off skids, pallets, and stands.
• Operates tools and equipment in performance of duties.
• Receives data from and inputs data to DSS and other automated supply systems in performance of duties.
• Operates Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as assigned and hold appropriate license.
• Counts, weighs, records data, apply tags and labels.
• Uses basic processes of inspection/examination procedures for material.
• Reads specifications, drawings, prints, schematics and photographs.
• Prepares reports relating to distribution functions.
• Makes preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• There are no supervisory duties associated with this position.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2 years specific experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, or related areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in the use of Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other automated distribution systems used at site.
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite products including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook software.
• Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.
• Ability to acquire a license to use Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
