Description

Warehouse Specialist functions as a warehouse worker and driver in the Furnishings Warehouse performing storing, inventory, and delivery duties. Must have knowledge in Army ranking.

Responsibilities

• Works as a member of a team for deliveries and pick‑ups of furnishings.
• Exerts a high degree of physical effort to move, deliver, load and unload furniture within the warehouse, on installation sites, and outside the installation.
• Assists the supervisor and unit management in inventory control, storage, acquisition, and property disposal.
• Operates various vehicles up to approximately 26 ft. to pick up and deliver furniture.
• Performs or oversees minor vehicle maintenance and makes judgments regarding loading and arranging cargo for pick‑up and delivery.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed and maintains a good driving record.
• May perform other related duties to meet the organization’s needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years specialized experience in DoD (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of first line maintenance of a 26 ft. box truck.
• Knowledge of standard warehouse loading and storage techniques.
• Ability to use MHE to move, manipulate, and store furnishings.
• Must pass DoD physical and background investigation.
• Beginner to intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional software (advanced applications preferred).
• Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers.
