Job summary

ValCorp is seeking a dependable Ammunition Warehouse Specialist to support ASP warehousing, inventory, storage, issue, accountability, and documentation operations at Fort Polk, LA. The role requires strict adherence to ammunition handling regulations, safety standards, SOPs, manuals, and storage plans.

Responsibilities include locating, storing, auditing ammunition, documenting activities, loading/unloading with MHE up to 10K, and ensuring overall warehouse safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years in storage or warehouse operations; ammunition or hazardous materials experience preferred.
  • Ammunition handling experience, military or civilian equivalent.
  • Must pass DOD Introduction to Ammunition (Ammo-45).
  • Must pass DOD Hazmat General Awareness & Familiarization (Ammo-67).
  • Must be able to complete and maintain all required ammunition training.
  • Must have or be able to obtain MHE licenses/certifications.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals.
  • Must be able to complete all ammunition-related documentation accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Issue, store, inventory, and maintain all ammunition and residue storage locations.
  • Ensure all ammunition items are properly sealed to prevent pilferage.
  • Inspect vehicles entering or exiting the ASP.
  • Conduct 100% location surveys and 100% inventories.
  • Comply with all published policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance for receipt, storage, issue, and disposition of ammunition.
  • Perform accurate document editing and maintain all required ASP documentation.
  • Update magazine data cards, ammunition store slips, storage planographs, and related records.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance inside and outside ASP facilities.
  • Load and unload vehicles; operate MHE up to 10K and other warehouse equipment.
  • Participate in CIP and Quality Assurance programs.
  • Mentor and assist with on-the-job training and cross-training.
  • Attend required training sessions and maintain all mandatory certifications.
  • Comply with all company rules, policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Ensure accountability and proper care of all Government-Furnished and Contractor-Furnished Equipment (GFE/CFE).
  • Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.
  • Must utilize proper lifting procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in strenuous conditions.
  • Must be able to meet short suspense dates.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, humidity, rain, and blowing dust.
  • Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of stooping, climbing, standing, and sitting.
  • May require shift work.

All Contractor personnel performing work under this contract must complete a favorable background investigation and be eligible to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC).
