Job summary

Creature Comforts Brewing Company in Athens, GA is seeking a Warehouse Specialist for the 2nd shift (1:00pm–9:00pm) to ensure inventory accuracy and smooth material flow inside the production facility.

Responsibilities include cycle counts, FIFO rotation, shipping/receiving, and safe operation of material handling equipment. You will work with teams to meet production and distribution needs and maintain high standards of organization and safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; logistics warehousing certifications preferred.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.
  • Proficiency with pallets, power lifts, and warehouse equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Description

Location: Southern Mill – Athens, GA Job Family: Specialist

Reports To: Warehouse Manager Exemption: Non-Exempt

Position Purpose: The Warehouse Specialist supports CCBC by ensuring that all the inventory inside the four walls of the production facility is present and accounted for and in peak condition. For raw materials, that process starts when product is unloaded and continues until it is put away. For finished goods, the process starts just when the raw materials are pulled from storage to staging and continues until the finished goods are leaving the facility for a distribution center.

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday – Friday 1:00pm to 9:00pm.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Inventory, Storage, and Movement Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Use the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to rotate products, ensuring older stock is used first to maintain product freshness and minimize waste.
  • Effectively manage the storage and movement of raw materials and finished goods within the warehouse.
  • Ensure optimal organization of inventory to maximize space and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments to meet production and distribution needs.
2. Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare and review documentation related to shipping and receiving functions.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and receipts.
  • Generate scheduled reports and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
3. Material Handling Operations
  • Operate power lifts, hand trucks, carts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of goods, ensuring accurate and timely movement of materials.
4. Daily Warehouse Operations
  • Execute daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, transfers and inventory control.
  • Ensure all shipments are accurately picked and dispatched on time.
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • With training, operate the box truck for transfers between locations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or warehousing preferred.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, including inventory management and material handling.
  • Proficiency in operating power lifts, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as required.
