Job summary

Prologis is seeking a Solutions Designer - MHE in Chicago to develop warehouse layouts and pallet racking designs using AutoCAD. You will work with customers to understand operations, storage needs, and budgets, then translate them into compliant construction drawings and design proposals.

The role partners with engineers, estimators, and vendors to ensure accurate design, pricing, and permits, while supporting sales with technical expertise and project handoff documentation.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in warehouse design, material handling design, warehouse optimization, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Word/Excel.
• Ability to communicate technical design concepts clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience designing pallet racks or material handling solutions.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to assess warehouse operations, storage requirements, productivity goals, budgets, and existing site conditions.
• Develop detailed AutoCAD warehouse layouts and pallet racking designs addressing site access and safety requirements.
• Prepare material lists and coordinate with structural engineers, manufacturers, and vendors for design solutions.
• Partner with estimation teams to distribute RFQs, develop pricing inputs, and support customer proposals.
• Present design concepts to customers and provide technical support to Sales during meetings and presentations.
• Prepare project handoff documentation including drawings, consultant drawings, vendor quotations, and permit submittals.
