Job summary

SYGMA Northern CA Distribution Center is seeking warehouse associates who will hand-build pallets and load products onto trailers, working 4 days per week and averaging 40-50 hours weekly. Pay is up to $26.60 per hour, with incentives and a strong seniority list. Medical/dental/vision and company-paid life insurance begin after 31 days of employment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) to pick, pull, sort and stack products weighing up to 45 lbs.
• Work in freezer and dry warehouse environments with provided cold gear.
• Build pallets per food safety and quality standards; inspect products and prevent cross-contamination.
• Maintain clean and safe warehouse conditions and address spills or damaged cases.

JOB SUMMARY

This position serves our customers by hand-building pallets of products and loading products onto trailers according to established company and customer standards.

• Pay rate: Up to $26.60 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive and utilize all company warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) to select, pull, sort, and stack product, weighing an average of 45 lbs., within the warehouse and dock safely, according to company standards.
• Work in a freezer and dry warehouse environment (freezer coats, hats, and gloves provided)
• Handles products and build pallets according to established food safety procedures (e.g., visual inspection of the product for damages, proper placement on pallets to minimize cross-contamination and damage).
• Ensures that the warehouse is maintained cleanly and safely according to company standards; takes appropriate corrective actions when a spill or damaged case is discovered; disposes of trash and recycling in proper receptacles.

• Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree

Experience

• 6 months of previous warehouse experience preferred; or equivalent physical work experience in place of a degree.

Professional Skills:

• Knowledge of safe lifting procedures, and food safety guidelines.
• Skill in building pallets of products quickly, accurately and safely.

Ability to:

• Ability to: operate forklift and/or pallet jack and maneuver in tight areas.
• Meet the minimum productivity levels established by the company.
• Read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
• Perform basic math functions (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Solve problems.

• Apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Wear personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes).
