Job summary

Merchants Distributors, LLC (MDI) in Hickory, NC is hiring Warehouse Selectors to fill customer orders and palletize products. You will operate a pallet jack, label and stack cases, and work in temperature-controlled areas across Dairy/Produce, Meat/Frozen, and Grocery.

Shifts include Fri-Sun 4am-4pm, Sun-Tue 3pm-3am and Wed-Fri 3pm-3am; starting pay $21.45/hr with top base $24.75/hr plus a $2 shift premium in the freezer dept. Medical benefits and PTO are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in similar environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pass pre-employment testing (Drug Screening, Background Check, Physical Abilities Test).
• Stable work history

Responsibilities

• Operate pallet jack, label and palletize products to fill customer orders.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain quality standards for stacking and pallet conditions.
• Label selected products and apply header labels to finish pallets for shipment.
• Be able to walk with and guide the pallet jack between slots during selections process.

• Friday-Sunday 4am-4pm
• Sunday-Tuesday 3pm-3am
• Wednesday-Friday 3pm-3am

Responsibilities

• Warehouse selectors areresponsible for operating a pallet jack, label and palletize products in order to fill customer orders. Selectors must work efficiently and in a safe manner. This position requires working in areas with temperature and humidity changes based on local weather conditions, and the area in which the selector is working in (Dairy/Produce, Meat/Frozen, Grocery).

As a Warehouse Selector you -

• Must work in a safe manneradhering to all company safety guidelines.
• Must be able to reach, lift and stack cases ranging in weightfrom 1-100 lbs. from floor to overhead.
• Appropriately label selected product and apply header label to finish pallet to prep for shipment.
• Must maintain quality standards of accuracy, stacking and pallet conditions.
• Stack merchandise on pallet in a manner that no damage occurs while selecting orders, loading, or deliveringproduct.
• WILL TRAIN to operate electric pallet jack in a safe manner so as not to endanger self or -co-workers.
• Must be able to walk and guide jack from slotand to slots during selections process.
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends (REQUIRED- per your schedule).
• Must be able to maintain production standards.

On average, warehouse selectors lift 20,000 - 40,000 lbs PER SHIFT.
