Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Location Safety Supervisor in Port Deposit, MD to lead safety initiatives and equipment training within our Supply Chain Solutions division.

The role focuses on OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and continuous safety improvement. Responsibilities include directing site safety programs, monitoring PPE and work practices, maintaining OSHA logs, analyzing safety data in Power BI, and coordinating forklift training and new-employee orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or logistics preferred.
• 1+ year driving PIT equipment.
• 3+ years in supply chain/warehouse experience preferred.
• 1+ year in training/leadership preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety programs and compliance (SafetyNet, Emergency Action Plans, HazMat, CTPAT).
• Monitor PPE compliance and safe work practices.
• Manage Workers’ Comp notifications and Return to Work program.
• Track Total Safety Index (TSI) data in Power BI and identify trends.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs and ITA submissions; assist OSHA interactions.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations with reports and data.
• Conduct daily safety walks, inspections, and hazard observations.
• Oversee Forklift Training Program and safety orientation for new hires.
• Chair Safety Committee and oversee Behavior-Based Safety.
• Oversee Workday safety training compliance and course completion.
• Conduct audits and corrective actions on a monthly/quarterly basis.

• Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month

• Annual Salary Pay: $65,000-$67,000

• Schedule: Monday-Friday

• Hours: 6:00pm-2:00am

• This position will facilitate safety initiatives and equipment training

• Prior experience leading safety and compliance programs is preferred

• OSHA certifications preferred

Summary

The Warehouse Location Safety Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees within the warehouse. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and company policies while fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions

• Lead site safety programs and compliance through SafetyNet, including Emergency Action Plans, Hazmat, and CTPAT requirements.

• Monitor employee compliance with safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.

• Manage Workers’ Comp notifications and Return to Work program

• Track and analyze Total Safety Index (TSI) data in Power BI to identify trends and corrective opportunities.

• Maintain OSHA 300 logs and annual ITA submissions; support OSHA interactions when required.

• Support incident and near-miss investigations by gathering information and completing reports.

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety walks, inspections, behavioral observations, and hazard observations

• Manage, audit, and support Forklift Training Program

• Conduct New Employee Safety Orientation

• Chair and train the Safety Committee; oversee Behavior-Based Safety and GoodCatch programs.

• Oversee Workday safety training compliance and ensure completion of all required courses within site timelines.

• Conduct and track monthly/quarterly audits, inspections, and corrective actions.

• Perform other duties as required.

Compensation Information :
