Job summary

Williams Distributing Co. and Shoemaker Inc., part of Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc., is seeking a warehouse/delivery associate in Michigan to safely load/unload materials, stock inventory, and fulfill orders.

You will operate forklifts, drive company vehicles, perform vehicle inspections, and ensure DOT safety standards while delivering to customer sites. A valid driver's license and clean record are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and valid driver's license.
• At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment to load/unload and transfer materials.
• Receive, stock, and organize inventory in designated locations.
• Maintain inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
• Complete will calls and prepare orders for delivery or customer pickup.
• Ensure warehouse cleanliness and safety through daily inspections.
• Assist customers and internal staff with product inquiries and order fulfillment.
• Wear proper PPE and uniform during all shifts.
• Follow SOPs and company policies.
• Serve as a backup driver for local deliveries as needed.
• Safely load, secure, and deliver products to customer sites using company vehicles.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of delivery vehicles and forklifts.
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Accurately complete delivery logs and related paperwork.
• Provide courteous and professional service during deliveries.
• Assist with front counter or branch operations when required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum 21 years old
• Possesses a valid driver’s license in the state of employment
• Has a working knowledge of commercial truck mechanics
• Has a working knowledge of current Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
• Has a minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the past 3 years
• Placement as driver is contingent upon successful completion of DOT road test, pre-employment drug & alcohol testing, and background check
• DMV record cannot reflect an excess of 2 moving violations and/or preventable accidents within the past 3 years
• Valid driving license with excellent driving record
• Must pass DOT standards
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to proficiently use MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a scanner

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience
• Minimum 1 year of operating a DOT regulated vehicle, box truck preferred
• Current Valid Driver License

Education/Certification

• High School diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license Chauffeurs with clean driving record
• DOT screening annually
