Scott Electric Company in Hagerstown, MD is seeking a Full-Time Warehouse Receiver to accurately receive, inspect and process incoming shipments of electrical products. You will verify orders, document data, and store items per company standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 1–3 years of warehouse receiving experience, basic knowledge of electrical materials, and the ability to operate forklifts. OT may be required during peak periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of warehouse receiving experience preferred.
• Experience handling electrical products is a plus.
• Familiarity with WMS/ERP software.
• Ability to operate forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy.
• Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
• Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system or ERP.
• Label, tag, and route materials to appropriate locations.
• Coordinate with purchasing, customer service, and accounts payable on backorders or shortages.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Maintain organized receiving and staging areas.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
• Support picking and shipping during peak periods.

Scott Electric has a current opening at our Hagerstown, MD branch for a Full-Time Warehouse Receiver (Mon-Fri 7:00 am-3:30 pm + OT).

Position Summary

The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments of electrical products and materials. This role ensures that all products are verified against purchase orders, properly documented, and stored in accordance with company standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, basic knowledge of electrical materials, and experience in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers
• Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy (quantities, part numbers, condition)
• Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly
• Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP system
• Label, tag, and route materials to appropriate warehouse locations
• Coordinate with purchasing, customer service, and accounts payable teams regarding backorders, shortages, or incorrect shipments
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely
• Maintain organized and clean receiving and staging areas
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed
• Support overall warehouse operations, including picking and shipping, during peak periods

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–3 years of warehouse receiving experience, preferably in wholesale or distribution
• Experience handling electrical products (wire, conduit, fittings, panels, lighting, etc.)
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software
• Ability to operate forklifts
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment (standing, bending, lifting)

Preferred:
