Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. Distribution Center is hiring a Distribution Center Inspector to ensure inbound product handling meets company standards, vendor requirements, and SOPs.

You will validate documentation and escalate issues when required to support inventory accuracy and efficiency. Using the Warehouse Management System, you will define inbound content and input merchandise attributes to support correct DC flow, sign for merchandise on bills of lading, and follow all safety and operational

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Basic computer and math skills; experience with warehouse systems.
  • Ability to work independently within defined guidelines.
  • Preferred: prior DC, warehouse, inventory control, quality, or compliance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect inbound freight, product, and documentation for compliance with company, vendor, and regulatory standards.
  • Validate purchase orders, bills of lading, and system records to support accurate receiving and inventory control.
  • Define inbound content using Warehouse Management System.
  • Input merchandise attributes into WMS to ensure appropriate DC flow path is used.
  • Sign for merchandise on Bills of Ladings in accordance with SOP.
  • Escalate issues per established procedures; repeated errors may result in corrective action.
  • Support timely flow of product through the Distribution Center to meet timelines.
  • Follow all safety, security, and operational policies and procedures.

This role supports inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance by performing inspections, validating documentation, and escalating issues when required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect inbound freight, product, and documentation to ensure compliance with company, vendor, and regulatory standards

Education and Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures
  • Basic computer and math skills and ability to work with warehouse or receiving systems
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions within defined guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a distribution center, warehouse, inventory control, quality, or compliance role
  • Experience identifying process gaps, compliance issues, or inventory discrepancies
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for duration of the shift
  • Ability to lift up- to 50 lbs
