Job summary

Musket Corporation is seeking an outside terminal operator to work in a demanding shift environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You will manage equipment and operations, keeping safety and environmental standards front and center, while supporting railcar unloading and ongoing facility improvements.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure. You must live within commuting distance of the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of safety regulations.
• 1–2 years of related experience.
• Able to respond in emergency situations and follow safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work rotating shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of an outside terminal operator in a daily shift environment, including overtime, holidays, weekends, and nights.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and operations; ensure safe, compliant performance.
• Control facility operations safely and efficiently per environmental permits and safety rules.
• Support railcar unloading activities and inspect equipment as required.
• Communicate status and improvement suggestions to supervisors and peers.
• Correct abnormal conditions and document shift activities.
• Monitor equipment hourly and log status updates in the shift log.
• Carry out all other assigned duties and general labor as needed.

Job Functions

• Perform the duties of an outside terminal operator in a daily operational shift environment, including overtime, holiday, weekends, and nights.

• Possess a detailed, and up to date, working knowledge of all equipment and operations.

• Has the responsibility to control the operation of the facility, and must do so in a safe and efficient manner and be in compliance with all environmental permits and all safety regulations at all times.

• Support railcar unloading activities whenever required, which includes connecting and disconnecting railcars, opening manways if required, and inspecting railcaretc.

• Effectively communicate to supervisory and fellow facility personnel relative to the condition of the facility equipment and performance, and provide suggestions for facility improvements.

• Correct abnormal conditions by taking appropriate corrective action.

• Responsible for continuously monitoring all facility equipment on hourly basis, ensuring safe and correct operations, while recording/reporting status updates and pertinent information in the shift log book.

• Communicate all pertinent activities to the operation manager on duty.

• Fill out all forms required for that shift.

• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

• Maintaining professional communication and attitude in dealing with all personnel.

• Attend and complete all trainings and safety meetings as required.

• Carry out all other assigned duties.

• General labor work as needed to maintain a safe work environment.

Experience and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Basic computer skills

• Knowledge of safety regulations

• 1–2 years of related experience

• Able to respond in emergency situations

Skills and Physical Demands

• Must speak, read, and write English

• Basic math skills required

• Willing to work rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call)

• Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds

• Willing to work outside in all weather conditions

• Can work indoors, outdoors, and in dusty environments

• Able to operate a forklift

• Normal hearing and vision (including color, depth, and distance)

• Must follow OSHA and company PPE (protective equipment) rules

• Able to climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights (with or without accommodation)

• Must follow all health, safety, security, and environmental policies

• Must pass random drug and alcohol tests

• Must live within 60 minutes of the facility or be willing to move (no relocation help provided)
