Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Full Time Outbound Team Lead in Hagerstown, MD. The role features weekly pay, a $22.00 per hour base with a $1.00 per hour lead premium, and a 6:15am–2:15pm schedule, Monday through Friday.

You will lead warehouse activities, drive safety, and ensure efficient operations across the distribution network. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of lead experience, forklift certification, and strong communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and RF scanners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• 1+ year previous experience as Team Lead preferred.
• 1+ year Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• 1+ year previous warehouse experience preferred.
• RF scanner experience required.
• Valid forklift operator's license certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement for optimal efficiency.
• Perform warehouse tasks such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation.
• Allocate resources and distribute daily work to ensure optimal shift logistics.
• Inspire team members toward improved KPI performance.
• Provide orientation and necessary tools to employees.
• Promote health and safety practices in the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Complete daily reports and propose actions to enhance operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.

• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.

• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.

• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.

• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.

• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).

• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
