Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring a Warehouse Selector to join our distribution team. You will pick and move product between the loading dock and warehouse, using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, to fill customer orders from multi-level racks.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a 4-day work week (Sun, Wed, Thu, Fri) with a 10:00 am start and a pay structure starting at $20/hour during training and averaging $31/hour

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts including required overtime.
• Ability to lift 10–35 lbs regularly and up to 60–100 lbs location dependent.
• Ability to work in multi-temperature environments (dry, cooler, freezer).
• Ability to become EPJ certified within new-hire training period.

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule, obtain supplies and prepare for operations.
• Perform safety check on pallet jack/forklift and ensure safety devices function.
• Put on required PPE and safety gear.
• Place pallets on pallet jack and operate along multi-level racks to locate products.
• Move stock items from pick slots and racks to pallets as required.
• Transport completed orders to shipping dock staging area and shrink-wrap if needed.
• Remove and replace batteries, complete vehicle inspection checklist.
• Secure equipment at end of shift and complete paperwork.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards per location and guidelines.

• Four Day Work Week. Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday!
• 10:00 am start time until finished
• $31/hour average (after training) Compensation is performance based. Your results drive your earning potential!

Position Summary:

Warehouse associates are the foundation to our company's success. They work actively, safely, and independently to maintain the efficient flow of products through our distribution process, while ensuring quality standards.

As a Selector, you will select and move product between the loading dock and the warehouse and within the warehouse. You may also utilize company provided equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, tuggers, carts, etc.

The Selector selects cases and other containers of food and non-foods products to fill customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems. Items are placed on pallets and completed orders are moved to the loading dock staging area with an electric pallet jack / forklift, wrapped, labeled, and readied for shipment in a timely manner.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Reviews work schedule, obtains supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
• Performs safety check on pallet jack / forklift to be used and ensure that all other safety devices are functioning properly.
• Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
• Places pallets on pallet jack and operates along assigned multi-level racks and locate products according to order sheets.
• Manually places the appropriate stock items on pallet from pick slots and racks as required. Uses single and/or double pallets as directed.
• Transports completed palletized customer order to shipping dock staging area. May be required to shrink-wrap pallet for staging.
• Removes batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries, or attach re-charger and complete vehicle inspection checklist.
• At the end of the shift, secures all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Meets required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
• Follows all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
• Ensures work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to work scheduled/assigned shifts, including required overtime
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shiftAbility to lift, stack, and/or pull product weighing 10-35 lbs. regularly and up to approximately 60-100 lbs. (location dependent)
• Ability to work in multi-temperature environments (dry, cooler, freezer)
• Ability to pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check
• Ability to become EPJ certified within the new-hire training period
• Ability to complete required training independently

Preferred qualifications:

• 6+ months of warehouse and/or distribution experience using a motorized pallet jack.
