Johnson Brothers is a leading family-owned distributor of wine, spirits, and beer, based in Iowa. We are hiring a dedicated Warehouse Worker to pick, pack, load, and ship alcohol products in a fast-paced distribution setting.

This full-time role offers a 4-day work week with shifts starting at 5:30 PM, about 10–12 hours per shift, and pay up to $24 per hour plus incentive opportunities. Benefits include health/dental insurance, 401(k) and matching, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift 40-60 lbs repeatedly.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Issue, receive, pick, and transfer products to maintain inventory.
• Use scanning devices to pick and ship products accurately.
• Maintain set picking standards and load products into trucks.
• Operate manual and power equipment safely.
• Check products for quality before shipping and handle damaged items per procedures.
• Review orders for shipment and follow safety and cleanliness protocols.

Job Description:

Johnson Brothers opened in Iowa in 1985 when the State privatized wine wholesale and retail sales. Starting with a staff of 15 working in the Des Moines Golden Circle, Johnson Brothers has grown steadily, acquiring 13 companies, expanding and relocating operations three times and currently employs more than 200 team members.

Schedule:

• Shift hours starting at 5:30pm until completion
• Approximately 10-12 hours per shift
• 4 Day Work Week, Monday through Thursday

Pay: up to $24.00/hour ($20.00/hour plus incentive opportunities)

Job Profile Summary:

Dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Worker to work in the wine and spirits industry, responsible for picking, packing, truck loading, and shipping alcoholic beverage products in a fast-paced distribution environment. Skilled in order fulfillment, palletizing, and forklift operation while adhering to safety regulations and industry compliance standards. Demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet productivity goals while ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to support efficient warehouse operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Issue, receive, pick, and transfer product to maintain accurate inventory.
• Proper usage of scanning devices to pick and ship products.
• Maintain set work standards for picking orders.
• Safely operate and utilize manual and power equipment.
• Loading of product into delivery trucks. Ensure proper loading to minimize damage during transport.
• Check products and packaging for quality purposes prior to shipping.
• Ensure all damaged products are properly removed from inventory and handled in accordance with procedures.
• Reviews orders for shipment to ensure accuracy.
• Follow all safety and cleanliness protocols.
• Other warehouse duties and activities as assigned.

• Ability to work independently, be self-managed and motivated to meet deadlines.
• Ability to safely lift 40-60 lbs. repeatedly.
