Job summary

Buckhead & Newport Meat and Seafood is seeking a warehouse associate to accurately select products in the storage area and prepare items for shipping.

You will use an electric pallet jack and forklift to move pallets, assemble orders, attach labels, and keep the workspace clean and safe in a cool environment. This role requires standing for long shifts and lifting up to 100 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• 0-1 year of relevant warehouse experience.
• Frequent lift 10–75 lb and up to 100 lb.
• Frequent reach up to 72 inches.
• Stand 10-12 hours daily in a cool/freezer environment.
• Read customer orders from label screen and pick items accordingly.

• Attach product labels.
• Operate electric pallet jack to move products to the dock for staging.
• Handle products with care and report any damage.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in facility cleanup and sign off daily cleaning tasks.
• Sign in and out for all equipment used.
• Follow GMP and SQF policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read customer order from label screen and select product by slot and description.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets in the proper sequence.
• Attach labels on product.
• Properly operate an electric pallet jack (2-pallet length) to proceed to correct slot location, and transport product to dock area for staging.
• Handle products with the necessary care.
• Report any damage of merchandise, equipment or facility to a supervisor.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Assist in the clean-up of the facility and sign off on the daily cleaning area that the supervisor may assign.
• Sign in and out for all equipment when used.
• Use basic communication skills to understand work systems, instructions, etc.
• Adhere to all applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), personal hygiene, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures as described in the European Imports - Sysco Food Safety Training Manual.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 0 - 1 Year relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift product that weighs 10lb - 75lbs and up to 100lbs.
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches.
• Constantly bend and twist while operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, retrieving products from lower shelf areas.
• Work in very extreme temperatures (cooler and/or freezer).
• Work on your feet for 10 - 12 hours daily.

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift.
• 1 year of warehouse, military, or physically active job experience.
• 1 year Selection Experience.
• 2 years consistent work history preferred.
