Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking Warehouse Selector to pick orders for delivery to local foodservice venues in the community.

This active role uses an electric pallet jack or forklift, with frequent heavy lifting and long hours in temperature-controlled environments. You will organize pallets and build customer orders, with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 0–1 year relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift 10 lb - 75 lb and up to 100 lb.
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches.
• Constantly bend and twist while operating equipment.
• Work in very extreme temperatures (cooler and/or freezer).
• Stand for 10–12 hours daily.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Work in a Sysco warehouse and be a critical member of the foodservice supply chain. Warehouse Selectors pick orders for delivery to foodservice venues in the local community.

• Active, physical role that includes operating an electric pallet jack, and/or forklift
• Organizing and palletizing product to build customer orders
• Other duties as assigned.

Safe working environment, working in areas with temperature and humidity variations based on local weather conditions and type of product being selected (i.e., non-refrigerated, refrigerated, and frozen.)

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 0 – 1 Year relevant work experience.
• Frequently lift product that weighs 10 lb - 75 lb and up to 100 lb.
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches.
• Constantly bend and twist while operating an electric pallet jack or forklift, retrieving products from lower shelf areas.
• Work in very extreme temperatures (cooler and/or freezer).
• Work on your feet for 10 – 12 hours daily.

Preferred Requirements

• 1 year experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift.
• 1 year of warehouse, military, or physically active job experience.
• 1 year Selection Experience.
• 2 years consistent work history preferred.
