Job summary

SpartanNash in Lima, Ohio is seeking an Order Selector to pick products from warehouse racks and assemble, palletize, and shrink wrap orders for shipment. You may operate powered industrial equipment and work in multi-temperature areas including dry, refrigerated, and freezer zones.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with prior order selecting and equipment operation experience. The role requires accuracy and adherence to safety policies in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Locate and lift cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and related products for delivery to customers using order sheets or an audio headset.
• Operate powered industrial equipment (e.g. single and double pallet jacks).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including inspections of powered equipment using a safety checklist.
• Report damaged products, quality issues, and out-of-stock/low volume products.
• Utilize proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product and prevent damages.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is responsible to complete orders by selecting products from the warehouse racks and to assemble, palletize and/or shrink wrap products/pallets for customer orders. An Order Selector may be required to use a variety of powered industrial equipment and may be required to work in dry or cooled product areas including refrigerated and freezer compartments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Locate and lift cases, boxes, bags, and/or pallets of dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork and related products in specific quantities for delivery to customers by using order sheets or an audio headset.

Operate powered industrial equipment (e.g. single and double pallet jacks).

Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including conducting inspections of powered industrial equipment using a safety checklist.

Report damaged products, quality issues, and out-of-stock/low volume products.

Utilize proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damages.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
