Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. is seeking a warehouse associate to join our distribution team at an on-site facility. You will load, sort, and verify products, operate pallet jacks and forklifts, and maintain safety and efficiency in daily operations.

The role features a four-day, 10-hour schedule with additional weekend pay and environment considerations for perishable and grocery operations. Prior shipping/receiving experience is valued along with reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age due to equipment operation.
• Prior experience as a shipping, receiving, or stock clerk is highly desirable.
• Must be able to lift cases of various weight and sizes up to 90 pounds.
• Must be able to read labels and make decisions on properly stacking and loading product into trucks.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Responsibilities

• Counts, sorts and verifies product descriptions and store numbers of items being loaded.
• Examines pallets to ensure they are shrink wrapped correctly.
• Stores product in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information.
• Reports adjustments to inventory counts, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and out of stocks.
• Transports product throughout warehouse via electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
• Maintains loading performance standards of speed and accuracy with minimum damage and maximum safety, while being mindful of weight distribution on the trailer.
• Assists other department personnel in the performance of work activities when peak workloads require or during absences of division personnel.

Pay & Schedule:

• Starting wage $19.75/hour with a pay increase upon 2 consecutive weeks of hitting productivity
• $2.00/hr for Weekends
• $2.00/hr for Freezer environment (if applicable)
• UNFI offers a Sunday - Friday Schedule, Weekends off
  • UNFI offers four-day, 10-hour set schedule
  • Sunday 8 AM-End of Shift; Monday-Friday 9 AM - End of Shift

Work Environment:

• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation
• Ability to do repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements required.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

• Onsite Role: This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.
