Job summary

Rhode Island Community Food Bank is seeking an Order Picker/Expeditor - Warehouse I to support Providence operations in RI. The role combines order picking, daily coordination of production, and expediting to meet agency needs and donor requirements.

You will work with warehouse teams, operate forklifts and pallet jacks after training, and help maintain safety and inventory accuracy. A high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years warehousing experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3–5 years experience in warehousing or equivalent.
• Forklift certification and experience using standard warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, man-ups and reach trucks.
• Experience with food warehousing and distribution is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work with groups of people at varying levels and positions within an organization.
• Ability to work on multiple projects with attention to detail, deal with interruptions, and maintain focus on tasks while producing accurate work.

Responsibilities

• Order picking within monthly standards for cases per hour and accuracy.
• Assist with order checking and validation of picked items.
• Expedite agency orders and assist agencies on the dock when appropriate.
• Keep the agency dock clean and clear throughout the day and maintain produce cooler stock.
• Provide general warehouse support and ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory codes.
