Overview
Create, coordinate, and complete shipments of goods between the company and clients. Coordinate with off‑site logistics locations, suppliers and vendors to meet deadlines and track all shipments. Process orders and ensure shipment schedules are met. Serve as a point of contact for customer service and maintain accurate transaction records for clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities for assigned shift or area.
- Follow warehouse work instructions for receiving, labeling, storing, shipping and value‑add services according to DSV Air & Sea policies.
- Meet company objectives in performance, safety, quality, leadership, and customer service.
- Collaborate with supervisor, warehouse manager and freight forwarding teams to identify improvement opportunities.
- Unload inbound shipments safely, move products to correct destinations, and efficiently stage, stack and load merchandise.
- Move product from staging or unloading areas into correct load door and assigned trailer, ensuring trailer is secured and chocked before entry.
- Load and unload product using appropriate handling techniques, segregate, check and stage inbound product.
- Verify driver, trailer and bills for specific carrier and location, count freight, and ensure all requirements are followed.
- Secure trailer for transit, obtain required paperwork signatures from driver.
- Operate forklift and perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing and re‑packing as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and organized desk/office area.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have forklift experience and operation certification.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant customer service and logistics experience (or equivalent education).
- Material Handling Certification.
- Dangerous Goods Qualification.
- Some experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, able to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory and order accuracy verification.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic level mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in basic MS Office applications.
- Strong organizational and multi‑tasking abilities.
- Minimal supervision working environment.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing capability.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Operating material handling equipment.
- Standing for several hours per day.
- Normal warehouse environment with temperature changes.
- Low to moderate noise level; occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
Compensation & Benefits
Expected base pay range: $17.00 – $20.00 hourly. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, certifications and location.
