Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Houston seeks a Warehouse Operator Specialist to manage wave planning and optimize freight flow within the private supply chain system. You will group, sequence, and release orders to maximize efficiency and align with carrier departure schedules.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 2 years in capacity or wave planning, with 3 years preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and WMS is expected; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, release, and monitor warehouse orders using the WMS for balanced workflow.
  • Communicate changes in the network due to contingencies.
  • Collaborate with warehouse stations to find alternative routings or solutions.
  • Plan and release daily warehouse waves based on order volume, priorities, carrier schedules, and capacity.
  • Monitor order flow and adjust waves to meet productivity and service goals.
  • Coordinate with warehouse supervisors, inventory, picking, packing, shipping, and transportation.
  • Review inventory and identify orders delayed due to shortages or system issues.
  • Track metrics such as order volume, productivity, backlog, throughput, and on-time shipments.
  • Identify bottlenecks and communicate issues impacting orders or deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Operator Specialist, Wave Planner is responsible directing and maintaining consistent freight flow management within and outside the private supply chain system to assure operational impact. This role optimizes the order fulfillment process by strategically grouping, sequencing, and releasing orders to the warehouse floor to maximize efficiency and meet carrier departure schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze, release, and monitor warehouse orders using the WMS to ensure a continuous and balanced workflow for picking and packing teams.
  • Communicates changes in the scheduled network due to enacted contingencies.
  • Works with stationsin an effort tofind alternative routings or solutions to service commitments
  • Plan and release daily warehouse waves based on order volume, priorities, carrier schedules, and operational capacity.
  • Monitor order flow and adjust waves throughout the shift to meet productivity and service-level goals.
  • Coordinate with warehouse supervisors, inventory teams, picking, packing, shipping, and transportation departments.
  • Review inventory availability andidentifyorders that may be delayed due to shortages, holds, or system issues.
  • Balance workload within business unit work areas, equipment, and shifts to maximize productivity.
  • Monitor system-generated and manually created waves andmake adjustmentsas business needschange.
  • Track key operational metrics such as order volume, productivity, backlog, throughput, and on-time shipment performance.
  • Identifybottlenecks and proactively communicate issues that could affect customer orders or shipping deadlines.
  • Ensure 1 planning follows established operational procedures, customer requirements, and safety standards.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords and provide updates on workload, priorities, and expected completion times.
  • Work with leadership and operations teams to resolve system or process issues affecting order fulfillment.
  • Supportcontinuous improvementinitiatives designed to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and order turnaround time.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2years’ experiencein supply chain capacity planning, wave planning, 3years of experience preferred.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $21.53 – $26.91 . Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
