Job summary

GEODIS is seeking a Warehouse Operator to support daily warehousing and shipping activities at our Alabama site. The role requires operating forklifts, following safety rules, and lifting up to 50 pounds while preparing items for shipment.

You will read orders and schedules, stage and move goods, and ensure accurate quantity and placement in storage areas. This position offers stable hours and on-site work in Riverside, AL.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED or equivalent.
• 3–6 months experience in warehouse environment.
• Experience operating forklift is required.
• Ability to follow safety regulations while operating equipment.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to learn proper warehouse equipment operations.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedule, orders, or requisitions to determine items to move or distribute.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring correct quantity and type.
• Sort and place materials on racks or shelves by size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and convey orders to packing or shipping departments.
• Load, unload, move, and stage products using forklift or other equipment.

What you will be doing:

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed
• Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
• Assembles customer orders from stock, stage orders and/or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department according to OH or customer pick sheet
• Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products and materials using a fork lift, clamp truck or other power equipment

Requirements:

• High school education or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• Minimum 3 to 6 months experience and/or training in a warehouse environment
• Previous experience operating forklift is required
• Ability to follow safety regulations while operating equipment
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to learn proper operations of warehouse equipment
