Job summary

Staffmark Group is hiring a Warehouse Operator in Opelousas, LA. Pay is $13.00 per hour, with a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule. You will safely operate forklifts, move materials, and support inventory and shipping workflows to keep operations efficient.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and forklift certification (or completion within 30 days). Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork are essential to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and powered material handling equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and stage products.
• Pull, prepare, and verify customer orders for shipment, ensuring accurate quantities and product selection.
• Inspect inbound and outbound products for damage, infestations, code dates, and customer specifications.
• Verify load accuracy, stability, counts, and product condition before shipment.
• Maintain inventory records and documentation to support inventory accuracy.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
• Follow OSHA, MSDS, and company safety standards at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Report inventory discrepancies, damaged products, or safety concerns to management.
• Perform additional warehouse and logistics duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience Requirements

• At least 6 months of forklift operation experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment for up to 80% of the shift.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving materials.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining safety and productivity standards.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and assigned shifts as needed.
