Job summary

Ryerson is seeking a Service Center Operator B (SCOB) in Greensboro, NC to handle day-to-day staging, packing and picking of material for shipments using proper equipment and SAP work orders. You will ensure accurate preparation for outbound orders.

Qualifications

• Skills-based assessment including reading, maths, inspection & measurement, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum 2 years of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
• Ability to pass physical requirements exam (vision, hearing, mobility).
• Enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding and new hire training.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
• Packaging of material to customer requirements.
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed.
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation.
• All other duties as assigned or as changed.

• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
